Post Office boss urged authorities to not reverse the convictions of a whole bunch of sub postmasters

Post Office chief government Nick Read despatched the letter to Justice Secretary Alex Chalk final month, a day earlier than the federal government introduced plans to exonerate sub-postmasters caught up within the Horizon scandal.

In it, he knowledgeable the Secretary of State for Justice that the Post Office could be "bound to oppose" appeals in opposition to not less than 369 prosecutions.

In response, the federal government mentioned it could introduce "safeguards" to keep away from "anyone who was rightly convicted" making an attempt to "take advantage" of the compensation scheme.
