Prime minister Sir Keir Starmer will defend specializing in "short-term pain" for "long-term gain" as he reiterates the necessity for "tough decisions" throughout his keynote speech on the Labour Party convention.
Speaking in Liverpool on Tuesday, the prime minister touched on the £22bn black gap saying there are "no easy answers" to fixing it, and refusing to supply "false hope" to the general public.
