Putin claims that the prosecution of Trump demonstrates the corrupt nature of the U.S. political system.

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed on Tuesday that the legal proceedings against former U.S. President Donald Trump are an act of political retaliation, highlighting the deep-rooted corruption within the United States.

“I cannot reword”

“He stated that the actions against Trump are a result of political motives, aimed at persecuting him as a political opponent. These actions are being carried out openly in front of the American public and the global audience.”

According to opinion polls, Trump is the clear frontrunner for the Republican Party’s nomination in the 2024 presidential election. Throughout his presidency, Trump frequently emphasized his positive relationship with Putin, although critics accused him of being subservient to the Russian leader.

If he becomes president again, Trump has stated that he could resolve the conflict in Ukraine within a few days. However, he has not given any specifics about how he would achieve this.

Putin expressed his contentment with Mr. Trump’s statement about resolving urgent issues, such as the Ukrainian crisis, within a short period of time.

Regardless of who becomes president, the Russian leader stated that there is little chance of significant improvement in the poor relations between his country and the United States.

“I cannot reword”

Russia also is due to have a presidential election in 2024. Putin hedged Tuesday when asked if he would seek another term after being in power, as president or prime minister, since 2000.

He stated that they would discuss it once the Russian Parliament establishes a date for the election.
