Huge energy outages have hit main cities throughout Spain and Portugal. Flights, visitors lights, trains, telephone networks and card funds have been affected, with experiences of panic-buying at supermarkets.
REN, Portugal’s grid operator, has mentioned the outage that is affected the nation was attributable to a fault within the Spanish electrical energy grid, associated to a "rare atmospheric phenomenon".
