Large crowds have welcomed the M23 insurgent alliance to the provincial capital of Bukavu, with some even taking selfies with armed fighters. The insurgent coalition, Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC), which incorporates the M23 armed group, informed CNN that it has management of japanese Congo’s second-largest metropolis since February 16. The DRC’s Ministry of Communication and Media confirmed the takeover in a submit on X.
