Rep. Jeffries says he’ll ‘take my sweet time’ to carry up Trump invoice vote

In a passionate flooring speech because the House drew close to to a remaining vote, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries blasted what he referred to as President Donald Trump’s “big ugly bill.”

After hours of Republican drama, the House on Thursday morning was nearing a remaining vote on President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax lower and spending invoice.

Trump helped Speaker Mike Johnson stress GOP holdouts into flipping their no votes to permit the measure to go ahead in time to fulfill the president’s self-imposed July Fourth deadline.

Republican fiscal hawks have been upset that the Senate model being voted is projected so as to add roughly $1 trillion extra to the deficit than what the House handed again in May.
