The National Guard has been deployed to the streets of LA, as a deepening row between California’s leaders and the White House continues.
President Trump ordered troops on to the streets to stamp out the demonstrations that broke out in response to federal immigration raids.
Neither metropolis nor state officers requested the National Guards’ help, with California Governor Gavin Newsom calling their deployment "purposefully inflammatory".
President Trump says that if the Governor cannot do his job, the federal authorities will.
