Russia to withdraw from International Space Station after 2024
Russia has said it will withdraw from the International Space Station (ISS) after 2024 to focus on building its own orbital outpost.
Speaking to Sky News, space physicist Dr Martin Archer says Russia’s withdrawal from the mission after 25 years is a "backwards step".
He added that the ISS is "about more than politics, it’s been about science, engineering, human achievement – and to see politics in get in the way is really quite sad".
