Russian captain of container ship sentenced after deadly North Sea collision | Cameras in courtroom

Watch dwell from the Old Bailey in London as a Russian captain is sentenced after being discovered responsible of manslaughter by gross negligence following a deadly North Sea collision.

Vladimir Motin, 59, was convicted after his container vessel, the Solong, crashed into the Stena Immaculate, an anchored US oil tanker, close to the Humber Estuary final March.

Both vessels have been laden with flammable items, and have been engulfed within the ensuing blaze.

Filipino crew member Mark Angelo Pernia, 38, who was on the bow of the Portuguese-flagged Solong, was killed within the collision.

His physique has by no means been discovered.
