Schools building crisis: Minister says most schools not affected

Education minister Gillian Keegan has moved to ease fears the start of the school term could be severely disrupted after it was revealed dozens of buildings containing a certain type of concrete will have to close.

Despite the new term starting next week, around 104 schools or "settings" will be disrupted due to fears the structures could collapse.

Labour described the announcement as "staggering incompetence".
