Israel’s navy has confirmed its troops have begun what it calls a "limited, localised and targeted" floor operation in southern Lebanon.

It got here as rescue groups within the village of Ain El Delb, on the outskirts of Sidon, searched desperately for survivors after Israeli airstrikes levelled two residential blocks.
