Sephora and the wonder ‘comseticorexia’ probe | FT #shorts
Italian regulators are investigating LVMH-owned magnificence retailer Sephora and the posh group’s Benefit Cosmetics model over claims their advertising has allegedly fuelled ‘cosmeticorexia’, an unhealthy obsession with skincare amongst younger ladies.
Italy’s competitors and market authority stated it was probing Sephora and Benefit for suspected ‘unfair business practices’ with the promotion of skincare merchandise akin to face masks, serums and anti-ageing lotions to ladies as younger as 10 years previous, the FT’s Amy Kazmin explains.
