Sir Ed Davey to boycott Trump state dinner with the King in Gaza protest

Sir Ed Davey says it has been a "very difficult decision" to skip subsequent month’s state dinner, however that he believes the US president "is the one person" who can finish the conflict in Gaza.

The Liberal Democrat chief was chatting with Sky News following his announcement that he will likely be boycotting the state dinner being held subsequent month in honour of US President Donald Trump.

Rejecting the invitation will likely be seen as a snub to the monarch, however Davey has stated it’s about sending a message to Trump that he should act and finish the conflict in Gaza.
