The US will take over Gaza and "own it", Donald Trump has mentioned.

Speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the White House, he mentioned the 2 million Palestinian folks residing within the territory, which he described as a "demolition site", would go to "various domains".

Asked about deploying US troops to fill a possible safety vacuum, the president replied: "We’ll do what is necessary."
