Southport stabbings survivor campaigns to finish use of conventional kitchen knives

A survivor of the Southport knife assault is asking for using blunt-tipped knives in dwelling kitchens, in a marketing campaign she says is "for the girls".

In certainly one of her first tv interviews because the July 2024 assault, Leanne Lucas, 36, instructed Sky News it was the "tip of the knife" that precipitated accidents that led to her "nearly dying".

Ms Lucas was main a bunch of youngsters in a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop once they have been attacked by Axel Rudakubana, then aged 17.

Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, 9, have been killed within the assault. Ten others, together with Ms Lucas, have been injured.
