Keir Starmer has expressed his disappointment after shedding the Gorton and Denton by-election to the Greens.
Asked if he’s contemplating resigning, the prime minister: "It’s a really disappointing end result. Incumbent governments very often get outcomes like that mid-term, however I do perceive that voters are pissed off, they’re impatient for change.
"And I came into politics late in life, as it happens, to fight for change for those people need it. And I will keep on fighting for those people as long as I’ve got breath in my body."
