Starmer’s place is ‘untenable’ after Mandelson ‘catastrophe’, senior Tory argues
Keir Starmer’s place as prime minister is "untenable", Alex Burghart, the Conservative Party’s shadow Cabinet Office chief has stated.
He highlighted what he referred to as "the most dramatic piece of evidence" towards Starmer, his admission at Prime Minister’s Questions that "he knew that Peter Mandelson had an ongoing relationship with the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein when he appointed him to be ambassador in Washington".
Burghart added: "I’ve never thought he was fit to be prime minister. What I’m saying now is that I don’t think his position is politically tenable."
