State trooper who was fatally shot died ‘doing what he devoted his life to,’ Governor Shapiro says

A motive was beneath investigation Monday into the deadly capturing of a Pennsylvania state trooper who was gunned down throughout a site visitors cease Sunday night time by an alleged erratic driver who died on the scene by suicide, authorities stated.

The trooper was recognized by authorities as Cpl. Timothy O’Connor Jr., a 15-year-veteran of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro stated the 40-year-old O’Connor, a married father of a younger daughter, was killed "doing what he dedicated his life to and that is serving others, keeping our community safe, looking out for his fellow Pennsylvanians."
