In a press release, the the Iranian navy assertion stated that the strait had "returned to its previous state" as a result of the US refused to raise its sea blockade of Iranian Gulf ports.
The assertion asserted that the Strait of Hormuz will return to "strict control".
Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB says this implies the important thing delivery lane "is now closed again and passage requires IRAN approval."
