Stranger Things creators Ross Duffer and Matt Duffer shared whether or not they plan to proceed constructing on the unique story amid rumors that Netflix was releasing a secret ninth episode on Jan. 7. Ross Duffer revealed in an interview revealed by Entertainment Tonight Jan. 2, that Season 5 of the hit sequence is actually, its final. "I feel like this season really, truly does close the door on this story,” he said. “On the story of Hawkins, and the story of the Upside Down and the story of these characters."
