Stray kitten joins rat race aboard New York City subway

Stand away from the closing doorways, purr-lease.

A stray kitten who went viral after boarding a New York City subway prepare final week has been adopted by a fellow commuter.

Emmie — an ode to the MTA — is formally a proud Harlem resident after subway rider Betsaida Mercado, who whisk-ered the kitten to security, determined to maintain her.

Emmie is now dwelling together with her new sibling, a 13-year-old pup named King, and is adjusting to indoor life simply feline.

Mercado, who was shocked when the tiny rider joined her morning commute downtown final Thursday, introduced Emmie to the vet the subsequent day. The vet confirmed that the kitten was not microchipped and was in search of a furr-ever household.

Despite the morning chaos, Mercado was capable of rescue Emmie — and make it to work on time.

“I am proud of myself for doing that … now [we are] being rewarded with a beautiful baby kitten,” Mercado stated.
