Streeting says ministers ‘would fairly see police on the streets than policing tweets’
The arrest of Father Ted author Graham Linehan over social media posts sharing his views on trans rights has sparked a contemporary debate about free speech within the UK.
Writing on Substack, the 57-year-old stated that after flying into the UK from Arizona, he was detained by 5 armed officers at Heathrow Airport and put in a cell earlier than being questioned over posts revealed on X in April.
Sky’s Wilfred Frost requested cupboard minister Wes Streeting about it, he stated "we would rather see police on the streets rather than policing tweets."
