Conservative leadership candidate Rishi Sunak has used Margaret Thatcher’s former constituency of Grantham to lay out what he called ‘common sense Thatcherism’ policies.
His rival Liz Truss has marketed herself as Thatcherism’s heir – she has argued for low taxation to promote growth but the former chancellor said that would only increase the UK’s rocketing level of inflation.
