Warnings were issued to holidaymakers to avoid dozens of beaches across England and Wales this week after sewage was released.
Water companies are allowed to discharge sewage if infrastructure is overwhelmed.
The beach at Bexhill, East Sussex, remains near deserted despite the water now being officially deemed safe to bathe in.
