Penny Mordaunt supporter and Tory MP Tobias Elwood said that the Ms Mordaunt’s "camp will be looking at the state of our armed forces and making sure they have the competence to meet the challenging threats".
He then went on to say, "the next 10 years are going to be difficult security-wise."
