Timeline: US strikes on alleged drug boats

Since September, President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have ordered controversial army strikes in opposition to boats within the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.

The Trump administration has alleged with little proof that the boats have been smuggling medication from Venezuela and Colombia. The marketing campaign thus far has killed greater than 50 individuals, in accordance with officers.

Venezuelan and Colombian leaders have refuted the administration’s grounds for the assaults and slammed Trump for his army motion.

On Capitol Hill, some leaders from each events have questioned the legality of the strikes and whether or not the president has the constitutional energy to authorize them.
