Natalie Elphicke, the MP for Dover, has defected to the Labour Party.
She crossed the ground of the Commons shortly earlier than Prime Minister’s Questions started – the second Tory to take action in 10 days.
Speaking after her defection, she stated that beneath Rishi Sunak the Conservative Party had "abandoned the centre ground and broken many election promises".
