Donald Trump’s technique on Iran is "very weird," former worldwide improvement secretary Rory Stewart has mentioned.
Asked whether or not the US thought assassinating the Iranian supreme chief would have precipitated the regime to fall, he advised Trevor Phillips: "That’s clearly something that the US and Israel believed, which is why they killed Ayatollah Khamenei, the former supreme leader, and indeed his daughter-in-law and his wife and the rest of them."
He added: "It’s a very weird strategy. I’m struggling to think of any historical example where simply by killing the leadership, you spontaneously create a revolution, and it implies that they thought somehow that the Iranian regime was just about five or six people at the top."
