Ukraine challenges Russia’s justification of war at the International Court of Justice

The UN’s top court in The Hague, Netherlands opens five days of hearings, as representatives from Russia and Ukraine clash over President Vladimir Putin’s allegations of genocide in eastern Ukraine, as a pretext to the "special military operation" launched last year, in order to “demilitarize and denazify Ukraine”

Russia seeks to have Ukraine’s challenge against the war tossed out at the International Court of Justice, also known as the World Court, in a case which will see Ukraine supported by a record 32 other nations in a major show of support for the embattled nation
