Ukraine: first meeting of the British-Ukrainian Infrastructure Recovery Group was held in Warsaw – Minister Kubrakov

Warsaw hosted the first meeting of the British-Ukrainian group on infrastructure restoration. The group includes representatives from the two governments. The group will manage the reconstruction projects, which will attract funding from the British Government and British businesses. This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov:

“We held talks with Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Secretary of State for International Trade of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Secretary of State’s team shares our vision of high-priority “survival phase” projects, for the financing of which we will attract both donor support and preferential lending instruments, including those from the UK Export Credit Agency (UKEF).

Priority projects include the construction of temporary housing for internally displaced persons, the creation of a cargo hub on the Polish-Ukrainian border, and the development of the Danube port cluster.

All these projects are designed to solve two key challenges – to prevent humanitarian disasters in Ukraine and to prevent a global food crisis.

The prospects of these projects are proved by the fact that business is already investing in the development of logistics on the border and the Danube.
