Ukraine ratified 2 agreements with European Investment Bank, 5 million euros will be used to improve energy efficiency of buildings – Minister Chernyshov
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified two grant agreements between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank, which provide 5 million euros for implementation of the project “Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine”.
This was announced by the Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov.
“In order to continue the implementation of the Project “Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine” grant agreements have been concluded that provide for the receipt of grant assistance from the European Investment Bank in the amount of 5 million euros. With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the Ministry of Regional Development, together with the European Investment Bank, carried out unwavering communications to adapt the Project to the current situation. So far we have agreed to send 2 million euros for the rapid reconstruction of a number of health facilities”, – said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
Also, by prior arrangement with the Bank, the Ministry has developed the terms of participation of cities and communities in the Project, providing for the possibility of restoring damaged or destroyed public buildings.
It should be noted that in July 2021 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Financial Agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank, which provides for thermo modernization of about 1000 public buildings in Ukraine, in particular, kindergartens, health facilities, schools, etc. The total cost of the project is 300 million euros.
