Up to eight,000 British travellers in Jamaica, overseas secretary says | Hurricane Melissa
Yvette Cooper has been talking about Hurricane Melissa within the Commons.
The overseas secretary informed MPs that the Foreign Office’s disaster centre is working 24 hours a day to help Britons, and the defence ministry was supporting efforts.
She mentioned there have been 50,000 twin nationals dwelling in Jamaica, and as much as 8,000 Britons who could also be travelling there or on vacation.
