It comes as US secretary of state Antony Blinken has landed in Saudi Arabia for talks with the nation’s overseas minister.
The diplomat was greeted by the US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Michael Ratney, earlier than assembly Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud in Riyadh, the capital.
This is Mr Blinken’s eleventh journey to the Middle East because the conflict between Israel and Hamas broke out final October.
