Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will make an announcement within the Commons in regards to the Chris Kaba case.

The 24-year-old was fatally shot by firearms officer Martyn Blake in 2022, and on Monday Mr Blake was cleared of his homicide.

Sir Keir Starmer, chatting with reporters on his solution to Samoa for the annual Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, mentioned the jury’s resolution needed to be revered.

"I do understand the pressure that firearms officers operate under to make split second decisions in difficult and fast moving circumstances," he mentioned.

He added the federal government will decide up the accountability evaluation launched by the earlier Tory administration.
