The UN’s highest courtroom – The International Court of Justice (ICJ) – is about to rule whether or not it has jurisdiction to preside over a case introduced by Ukraine accusing Russia of violating worldwide regulation through the use of a false accusation of genocide because the pretext for its 2022 invasion.
Ukraine argues Russia breached the 1948 Genocide Convention by wrongly claiming Ukraine was committing genocide towards Russian-speaking individuals within the nation. Russia has ignored an order by the ICJ to cease hostilities and requested the courtroom toss out the criticism.
