John Swinney is about to be named as Scotland’s new first minister, changing Humza Yousaf.
Mr Swinney might turn into Scotland’s seventh first minister as early as Tuesday.
The nominations closed at 12pm on Monday, with the SNP confirming Mr Swinney was the only nominee.
This comes as Humza Yousaf mentioned he was resigning final week after he determined to finish the power-sharing settlement with the Scottish Green Party.
