Environment Secretary Steve Reed has informed Sky News "change is coming" to the water business below the Labour authorities.
He stated it was an "absolute disgrace" that document quantities of sewage was being pumped into rivers and lakes.
"This government has put in place three building blocks that will lead to that change," he stated.
"The first one is we have reset the system, banning unfair bonuses, multi-million pound bonuses that the water bosses had been paying themselves for overseeing this catastrophic failure and introducing new jail sentences for polluting water for bosses who break the legislation.”
