Bosses of water firms liable for unlawful sewage spills are to face a ban on receiving bonuses after years of campaigns and public outrage.
Environment Secretary Steve Barclay introduced payouts could be blocked to those that oversee the polluting of rivers, lakes and seas – beginning within the monetary yr starting in April 2024.
It was revealed that bosses acquired greater than £26m in bonuses, advantages, and incentives during the last 4 years – though some declined bonus funds final yr in response to public anger.
