Jared Bernstein, a member of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers, joined the White House press briefing Monday to speak about declining gas prices and inflation. "The decline in retail gas prices is not a daily blip," Bernstein said, adding that prices have dropped 50 cents per gallon over the last 34 days after surpassing $5 for the first time in history. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also answered questions from reporters about the criticism President Biden is facing for his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the new report on the Uvalde school shooting response and other topics.
