Why Black Sororities Matter in Georgia’s Close Race

The traditionally Black sororities and fraternities generally known as the Divine 9 have an extended legacy of political activism, although it’s historically been nonpartisan. Now that Vice President Kamala Harris — a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the nation’s oldest Black sorority — is on the high of the Democratic ticket, the organizations are mobilizing in a complete new means. And nowhere is that extra evident or extra consequential than in Georgia.
