Apple has attributed the overheating issue in its new iPhone 15 to a bug in its operating system and updates made to apps like Instagram.

Some users have expressed concerns about the latest smartphone model, stating that it becomes excessively hot to handle after its release in September.

Apple acknowledged the presence of a bug during the iOS 17 update on their phone.

However, it also stated that modifications made to external applications are resulting in an excessive burden on the system.

iPhone users have come to expect their devices to become hotter during the initial set-up or when they are being backed up, due to the amount of processing power being used and the handset working overtime – but these issues with the iPhone 15 have been worse.

Users flocked to social media platforms to express their dissatisfaction with the excessively hot new phones.

Apple stated that the device might experience a slight increase in temperature during the initial days following setup or restoration, due to heightened background activity.

The company stated that they have discovered several factors that may lead to iPhones operating at higher temperatures than anticipated.

This includes a bug in iOS 17 which is the latest version of Apple’s software which is accessible for its most recent models.

It was mentioned that there is a problem related to recent updates made by third-party apps, which is causing an excessive load on the system. The company is currently collaborating with app developers to address this issue and the solutions are being gradually implemented.

According to Apple, Instagram, Uber, and the video game Asphalt 9 are among the apps accused of causing the issue.

Last week, Instagram resolved the problem with its application.

The forthcoming bug fix for iOS 17 will not compromise performance in order to tackle the issue of iPhone overheating.

Apple emphasized that the heating issue of the phones is not connected to the new titanium casing found on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which differs from the stainless steel used in previous models.

It also dismissed speculation that the overheating problem was anything to do with the new USB-C port that allowed it to comply with a mandate issued by European regulators.

Apple stated that the problem does not pose any safety or injury hazards and will not affect the phone’s performance in the long run.
