There have been hints the federal government is ready to provide public sector staff an above inflation pay rise of 5.5%.
Speaking to Sunday Morning with Trevor Philips, James Murray MP, exchequer secretary to the Treasury, wouldn’t commit on whether or not the federal government will match the unbiased advice being made.
He mentioned the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves MP, is reviewing the nation’s funds, together with the pay evaluate our bodies suggestions, and "will then come to parliament at the end of the month and set out our response".
