World War II Navy veteran recollects witnessing Japan’s give up aboard the USS Missouri

Eighty years after the Japanese surrendered, formally ending World War II, CNN’s Stephanie Elam sat down with US Navy veteran Robert Kennedy, who served on the USS Missouri through the warfare. Kennedy says he was 18 when he first boarded the Missouri. He recollects what life was like on the “Mighty Mo,” witnessing the aftermath of a kamikaze assault and watching as members of the Japanese Imperial Government boarded the Missouri on September 2, 1945, to participate within the give up ceremony. #CNN #News
