Jeff Pope, the author/creator of a brand new Disney collection dramatising the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes has spoken to Sky News.
De Menezes was wrongly recognized as a terrorist suspect in 2005 simply two weeks after 52 folks have been killed within the capital in a wave of assaults.
A spokesperson for the Met Police stated: "The circumstances round his dying, which got here at a time of unprecedented terrorist menace to London, have been topic to quite a few public inquiries, together with two separate reviews by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (now the IOPC), which examined the entire proof surrounding his dying and the actions of officers within the aftermath.
"The suggestions made by the IPCC have been carried out instantly following these reviews, and within the 19 years since this tragic incident, we proceed to proactively enhance our processes and insurance policies wherever attainable to maintain our communities protected.
"No officer sets out on duty intent on ending a life. Our sole purpose is the complete opposite – the protection and preservation of life – and we have taken extensive action to address the causes of this tragedy."
