WWII Navy veteran describes family merchandise he constituted of piece of a Kamikaze aircraft
Eighty years after the Japanese surrendered, formally ending World War II, CNN’s Stephanie Elam sat down with US Navy veteran Robert Somrak, who served on the USS Missouri through the conflict. Somrak says he joined the Navy as a result of he beloved the ocean, the water and he knew within the Navy he’d have “a clean bed and good food.” He remembers what life was like on the “Mighty Mo,” witnessing the aftermath of a kamikaze assault and watching as members of the Japanese Imperial Government boarded the Missouri on September 2, 1945, to participate within the give up ceremony. #CNN #News
