At least two senior civil servants knew weeks in the past that Peter Mandelson had failed safety vetting for his US ambassador position, Sky News understands.
But they didn’t go over the data to the prime minister as a result of they have been ready for authorized checks on what data may very well be launched, based on a Cabinet Office spokesperson.
