Sir Keir Starmer celebrated Labour’s dramatic West Midlands mayoral win by difficult Rishi Sunak to name a common election "as soon as possible".
He mentioned Richard Parker’s victory was a "significant piece of political history".
Mr Parker scraped a win over two-term incumbent Andy Street by simply 1,508 votes.
